I am not responsible for selecting the ads that appear at the top of my blog. They are chosen by robots at Google. Sometimes the ads are quite dreadful, as in the case of the one I see now. I hope that readers elsewhere are seeing ads that promote peace, love, and intellectualism.

Just a reminder: I do not choose the ads that appear at my blog. They are chosen by robots at Google. The one that I see right now is especially heinous. (I don't want to refer to it by name lest I cause it to stay longer.) The ads are based in large part on the words that appear at my blog. I am now going to try to influence the adbots to go in a different direction:

peace, love, understanding, funk, art, beauty, sex, painting, music, literature, comic books, compassion, intellect, carnality, friendship, karaoke, humour, wit.

That should do it.

the perils of robotic adverstising

Wow. I coyly included a link to a certain website in the entry below, and the robots at Google's ad service have replaced my blog's ads for 'Talking Heads Ringtones' and the like with ads about making 'libs squirm' and military ringtones. Let's see if this reverses the tide: President Al Gore, President Al Gore, President Al Gore.

Hmm. I wonder if repeating the phrase often enough might have other beneficial effects as well.
