'I think art is difficult'

A very fine artist whose work you should see has just forwarded me a link to Charlie Rose's interview of Richard Serra, broadcast April 21, 2011. Serra speaks only in beautifully complete, hyper-articulate sentences. Whether you have seen the exhibition of his drawings at the Met or not, I am sure you will be moved by listening to Serra talk about his art and questions of making in general. People who teach should especially watch this interview, for Serra's habits of mind are exactly what we need to inculcate in our students.

Hey, sorry to do it this way, but since comments are moderated and I couldn't find any other way to contact you...

This is about your article at the Daily KOS http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/04/28/970884/-Birtherism-2008-smokescreen-for-McCain-s-birth-in-Panama#comments last year.

In your update 2 you say: "I can still find no evidence that McCain released his birth certificate to the public during his 2008 campaign. He did provide it to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire in the case of Hollander v. McCain (2008), which challenged his eligibility to serve," and you provide a link to the documents in the Hollander case. However, if you actually follow your own link, you'll see that the McCain "birth certificate" wasn't provided by McCain; it was submitted by plaintiff Fred Hollander as part of his Surreply.

It's just that I'm tired of birthers saying "McCain released a birth certificate" when he didn't, and I think your Daily KOS article is one of the few remaining mainstream sources for this false statement.

For what it's worth the Hollander McCain birth certificate is a fake, saying McCain was born in Colon, not the Canal Zone.
